Images of Discovery: Interactives

The interactives in Images of Discovery give visitors the opportunity to to take photographs similar to those of the photographers featured in the exhibition: Edgerton, Abbott, and Frankel. These interactives combine iPad interfaces with electromechanical interactives and physical objects, and serve to engage visitors intellectually with collections objects.

Visitors can upload these images to Flickr. A selection of the best visitor images are displayed on screens in the exhibitions. This project was the MIT Museum’s first effort at integrating social media into an exhibition. Visitors have contributed more than 500,000 images.
